Browsing The Results for Winning Products

top selling items, selling price, best selling products

As we sift through the results generated by our Black Box parameters, it's essential to have a good eye on what could potentially be our goldmine. The key is to ask ourselves a series of questions that helps identify if a product can be modified or enhanced to stand out in the market.

  1. Differentiation: Can the amount or length of the product be varied? Can something be added to make it more valuable or appealing?

  2. Customization: Is there room for tweaking the design or color to create a unique selling proposition? Does the product offer an opportunity for a design overhaul to meet a different aesthetic or functionality?

  3. Improvement: Are there common complaints or shortcomings of the current versions of the product that can be addressed and fixed in your version?

Remember, as you get more accustomed to this process, you'll develop an intuition for spotting products that are too generic and not worth the investment. An example of such products are scissors – their fundamental structure and function remain the same, leaving limited room for significant modifications. Sure, you might change the color or offer different sizes, but such modifications might not be substantial enough to make the product stand out.

Moreover, while we are exploring product ideas and experimenting, it's essential to stay cautious. For beginners, it’s wise to avoid products in the liquids, health, and electronics categories due to the additional certifications and complexities involved but on the other hand this can make these categories not have too much competition.

As we venture forward, these considerations will guide our decision-making process, ensuring we not only spot potential winners to add to your Amazon Seller Account but also transform them into unique offerings that resonate with customers and then sits among the top selling items.

Browsing our Black Box Results for Opportunities

best selling products, search volume

Scrolling through the list of product ideas from Black Box on the previous image, one product really stands out – the 32-inch, 6 pieces Orchid Flowers. Why does this one catch my eye? Well, it already meets two of my criteria – I can offer a different length and a different amount sometimes little tweeks like this can get you higher monthly sales volumes than your competition.

Now, there’s another handy tool called 'Review Insights' that can help me dig deeper into reading customer reviews for this product, this tool can be found in your chrome extension. This tool lets me scan the listing and read all the customer reviews. Even better, it sorts out the most common things people are saying in the reviews. This makes it super easy to spot any issues with the product, it also allows you to see which product out of the colour variations has the most reviews so you know which is the most popular.

For instance, if several reviews mention that the flowers aren’t tall enough, that’s a clue! I could step in and offer a taller version. And maybe, depending on what the market wants, I could try to start selling them in sets of 8 instead of 6. But we’ll dive more into market research and making those decisions a bit later.

This is just a glimpse of how we start spotting opportunities and thinking about how we can make a product different and better. Stick around as we explore more about turning these opportunities into real winners on Amazon!

Hunting for Keyword Demand

keyword research, search volume, consistent sales

Now that we've spotted a potential product, it’s time to dive into keyword research and demand. This step is crucial because it helps us understand what customers are searching for and ensures that our product gets seen by the right people.

First off, let’s find the ASIN of the product. ASIN stands for Amazon Standard Identification Number, and it’s a unique code that Amazon assigns to each product. You can find this 10-digit code under the product title on the left-hand side. It usually looks something like this: B0C5CRZDDB.

Got the ASIN? Great! Now, let’s head over to another useful tool – Helium 10’s Cerebro. Here, paste the ASIN and input the following parameters:

  • Country: Select the country you are doing the search in.

  • Word Count: Minimum of 2, no max

  • Search Volume: Set a minimum of 600 and no max. This shows us how many people are searching for this keyword.

  • Position Rank (Organic Rank:) Input 1-16. This will display all the keywords that the product is ranking for on the first page organically – meaning, without any paid advertising, these keywords are naturally driving sales.

Hit search and filter the results by search volume. This way, the keyword with the highest search volume and the most searches will be at the top of the list.

Next Select the most relevant keyword to the product and the one he has the highest position rank in which in this case would be Rank 1 for the keyword "Orchids Artificial Flowers" so click the little arrow next to the keyword and that will take you over to Amazon to see the market.

Section 6: Analysing the Markets top selling items

Amazon Search Bar, Products to sell

Having identified our keyword "Orchids Artificial Plant" and you are now on the Amazon marketplace for this keyword, this is all of your competition trying to rank for these keywords, it's time to scrutinize the market landscape.

Products showing high demand and sales

This is where Helium 10’s Chrome Extension comes into play, particularly the "Xray Product Page" feature. This feature assembles a list of all the competitors ranking on page 1 for this keyword, giving us a comprehensive view of the market.

Start by filtering this list by sales to see which products are the top performers in popular categories. Now, it’s up to you to apply the criteria we’ve discussed. Ask yourself out of everyone in this list competing for the top spot is it all generic listings or is there any brand feel private label products? whats the average price for similar listings?:

  • How can you stand out?

  • Is there something unique you can add or modify?

  • Is there a gap in the market for a your own brand feel? Perhaps the existing products lack appealing packaging or high-quality images.

  • Are the product listings optimized? Check if the bullet points are detailed and if they incorporate relevant keywords (the keywords displayed on cerebro should be in the title and bullet points and description)

These are some big factors which determine best selling items on amazon. Moreover, delve into customer preferences. Is there more high demand for larger or smaller quantities of these orchids? Which color seems to be the most popular? Is there something customers hate about the product? The 'Review Insights' tool can be instrumental here, offering a window into what customers appreciate and what they wish was better.

Additionally, scroll down on the product page and check the 'Frequently Bought Together' section. This can give you insights into complementary products and potential bundling opportunities which other online shoppers are purchasing together.

Understanding BSR - Best Sellers Rank

In the realm of Amazon, the Best Sellers Rank (BSR) plays a pivotal role in indicating a product's sales performance and help aid the product research tools. Essentially, the lower the BSR number, the higher the product ranks on Amazon, signaling that it's generating more sales compared to other products in the same product category, which in turn means its getting the most. For instance, a product with a BSR of 1 is currently the best-selling item in its product category, whereas a product with a higher BSR is selling less comparatively.

By closely monitoring BSR, sellers can gain valuable insights into market trends, product demand, and competitive landscape of top sellers, which is crucial for optimizing listings and strategizing marketing efforts to climb the ranks and boost sales for new sellers on Amazon. Keep in mind, though, while a lower BSR reflects higher current sales, it doesn’t directly correlate to overall profitability, so it should be considered alongside other factors for a holistic approach to Amazon selling.
